Secretary for Development Bernadette Linn today announced that the Government will put up for tender a residential site at Cheung Sha on Lantau Island, providing a supply of about 110 flats.

Unveiling the Land Sale Programme for the third quarter of this financial year, Ms Linn said the MTR Corporation and the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) will also roll out projects during the quarter.

The corporation will put up for tender Package One of Tung Chung East Station, a development that is expected to provide around 1,200 flats.

For its part, the URA plans to put up two development projects, one at Kai Tak Road / Sa Po Road and the other at Shing Tak Street / Ma Tau Chung Road. Together these will provide around 1,450 flats in total.

In addition, seven private development projects are expected to complete their lease modifications this quarter, providing a supply of about 440 flats.

Taking all sources into account, the total private housing supply in the third quarter will involve about 3,200 units, Ms Linn said.

Together with the supply from the first half of this financial year, the total supply in the first three quarters will amount to some 10,150 flats or around 85% of the target for the year.

The Government will not roll out any commercial sites for sale in the third quarter.
