Secretary for Health Prof Lo Chung-mau visited Tuen Mun Hospital this afternoon to inspect its work on setting up an Integrated Neuroscience Centre and receive a briefing on the work progress.

Apart from pressing ahead with cross-specialty collaboration and service integration, Prof Lo said the hospital will also introduce advance technologies to tie in with the centre’s establishment.

“I earnestly anticipate that the centre will provide one-stop, safe and efficient as well as patient-oriented, integrated neuromedicine services for patients suffering from acute stroke, dyskinesia and epilepsy,” he added.

It was stated in last year's Policy Address that the Hospital Authority would set up integrated neuroscience centres, with Tuen Mun Hospital being one of the hospitals taking the lead to establish such a centre.
