CE joins Sport For All Day 2023
Chief Executive John Lee today took part in fun sports games on Sport For All Day 2023 at Sham Shui Po Sports Centre to promote the message of regular exercising for health.
Organised by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, for this year’s event, the focal activity is “fitness exercise for wellness”. The department arranged a series of physical fitness demonstrations and play-in sessions for the public’s participation to encourage citizens to pursue a healthy body and mind through regular physical exercise.
Guests watched a demonstration of interval training and viewed fun games such as surfset, electronic cardio cage, electronic battling rope, speed stacks and sport climbing. They also had the chance to experience fencing.
Meanwhile, to echo the Sport For All Day event, 16 principal officials including Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki and Financial Secretary Paul Chan joined recreation and sports activities held at sports centres in various districts.
Separately, as the 19th Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou between September 23 and October 8, the department called for the public to show support for Hong Kong athletes.
During Sport For All Day 2023, free recreation and sports programmes were held at designated sports centres citywide, and most leisure facilities under the department’s purview were open for free use.
A live webcast of sports demonstrations was also available on the event’s dedicated website and the LCSD Plusss Facebook page to encourage people of all ages and abilities to engage in regular workouts, with a view to building a “sport for all” culture in the community.
