The Government today announced that Principal Assistant Secretary for Education (Higher Education) Derek Lai will assume the post of District Officer (North) tomorrow, succeeding Chong Wing-wun.

Since joining the administrative service in 2004, Mr Lai has served in the then Housing, Planning & Lands Bureau, the then Education & Manpower Bureau, the Labour & Welfare Bureau, the Commerce & Economic Development Bureau, the Development Bureau and the Financial Services & the Treasury Bureau.
