Vouchers to be disbursed on July 16
About 6.5 million people, including some 220,000 new registrants, have had their eligibility to receive payments under the second instalment of the 2023 Consumption Voucher Scheme verified, the Government announced today.
The second instalment of the 2023 scheme will be disbursed starting from July 16. Eligible Hong Kong permanent residents, new arrivals and others who have come to live in Hong Kong through various admission schemes or to study in the city will be awarded vouchers ranging in value from $1,000 to $3,000.
The Government has notified by SMS message, from the telephone number 6059 1120, all registrants whose eligibility has been verified that the disbursement is imminent. Members of the public can enquire as to the verification of their eligibility and the sum which will be disbursed to them by calling 18 5000 to access an interactive hotline.
Registrants who have been notified that they do not meet the eligibility criteria for the voucher scheme may apply for a review in writing within 14 days of receiving the SMS message.
Meanwhile, the scheme’s secretariat has selected a portion of registrants for eligibility checking, and has contacted them with an invitation to provide documentary proof. If disbursement to such registrants is delayed over the provision of documents, the secretariat or its contractor will complete the checks as soon as possible after receiving the required documents and disburse vouchers to those whose eligibility is verified.
