The Electoral Affairs Commission announced today that maps and detailed descriptions of the geographical constituencies for the 2023 District Council Ordinary Election have been uploaded to its website.

The District Councils (Amendment) Ordinance 2023, passed by the Legislative Council on July 6, came into effect yesterday, with the delineations of the geographical constituencies coming into effect simultaneously.

In accordance with the amended ordinance, the boundaries of the existing 18 districts are unchanged. There are a total of 44 geographical constituencies in the 18 districts, with two members being returned for each constituency.

The seventh-term District Councils will have 470 seats, comprising 179 appointed members, 176 District Committee constituency members, 88 District Council geographical constituency members and 27 ex-officio members.
