Financial Secretary Paul Chan today began his visit to Shanghai.

At SenseTime and the Shanghai Research Center of Huawei - leading technology enterprises in supercomputing and artificial intelligence - Mr Chan toured the facilities and exchanged views with the management to learn about the development of the industries as well as the firms’ plans to expand business in Hong Kong.

In the evening, he joined a dinner hosted by Shanghai leaders for guests of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference 2023.

The finance chief will attend the conference's opening ceremony tomorrow and give a keynote speech at the plenary session on industry development. He will also meet Shanghai officials, visit technology enterprises and speak at Fudan University.
