New round of heritage funding opens

July 3, 2023

The Development Bureau today invited applications for the second round of a funding scheme that offers financial support for activities related to built heritage conservation.

The Government launched Batch I of its Funding Scheme for Public Engagement Projects of the Built Heritage Conservation Fund as a pilot programme in 2017, inviting professional bodies involved in the conservation of built heritage to submit applications.

More than 16,000 participants took part in a series of public engagement activities, ranging from exhibitions and thematic lectures, to site visits and an online forum.

Eligibility for the new round of funding has been extended to local non-profit organisations with experience in built heritage conservation.

Applicants may submit project proposals that correspond to three priority themes, namely “Looking After Our Heritage Buildings”, “Engaging Young People in Heritage Conservation” and “Our Built Heritage & Our Community: Education, Religion & Heritage”.

Applications will close at noon on October 3.
