Zhejiang, HK sign co-operation pacts
Chief Executive John Lee today attended the opening ceremony of Hong Kong & Macau – Zhejiang Week & Zhejiang and Hong Kong Cooperation Theme Forum 2023 held in Hong Kong.
At the ceremony, Mr Lee and Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee Yi Lianhong witnessed the signing of co-operation agreements between Zhejiang and Hong Kong for promoting complementarity and achieving high-quality development of the two places.
Hong Kong and Zhejiang reached consensus on 12 mutual co-operation areas. They are finance; innovation and technology; trade and investment; aviation; education; youth exchange; culture and tourism, exchange of talents and civil servants; health, hygiene and Chinese medicine; environmental protection; facilitation for Hong Kong people in the Mainland; and legal and dispute resolution.
Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki and Vice Governor of Zhejiang People's Government Lu Shan signed the Co-operation Agreement between the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province.
Additionally, agreements were signed by relevant government departments and an organisation of both places for collaboration on education, investment promotion activities and the development of equine sports.
Noting that Hong Kong is a promoter of domestic and international dual cycles and possesses the unique advantage of "one country, two systems", Mr Lee stressed that both sides would jointly contribute to the development of the country through further co-operation.
