Secretary for Health Prof Lo Chung-mau will depart for Geneva, Switzerland today to attend the World Health Organization's (WHO) 76th World Health Assembly (WHA) on May 21.

Prof Lo will attend the 76th WHA as a member of the Chinese delegation.

The assembly's key discussions will cover a review of the WHO’s work in health emergencies.

A wide range of strategies and global actions on universal health coverage, primary healthcare, infection prevention and control and other areas will also be discussed.

The health chief will take the opportunity to exchange views on healthcare-related issues with WHO senior officials and other delegations.

Prof Lo will return to Hong Kong on May 24. During his absence, Under Secretary for Health Dr Libby Lee will be Acting Secretary.
