Secretary for Environment & Ecology Tse Chin-wan views the operation of hydrogen-powered forklifts in an enterprise in Foshan.

Secretary for Environment & Ecology Tse Chin-wan was in Guangdong today for an environment forum and to visit the Guangzhou Haizhu National Wetland Park and view hydrogen-powered projects.

 

Mr Tse this morning took part in the Fifth Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Ecological Environment Forum opening ceremony at Jinan University in Guangzhou. Themed "Biodiversity in the Beautiful Bay Area", the forum studied the protection and sustainable management of biodiversity in the Greater Bay Area.

 

He then proceeded to the Guangzhou Haizhu National Wetland Park and exchanged views with the Guangdong Department of Ecology & Environment on the progress of environmental collaboration projects, including the current work on wetland conservation.

 

Mr Tse's next stop was for lunch with officials from the Guangdong Department of Ecology & Environment and the Environmental Protection Bureau of Macau, during which they further discussed co-operation on environmental protection issues in the bay area.

 

He left for Foshan in the afternoon to view demonstration projects, including hydrogen-powered forklifts at a local enterprise as well as a hydrogen-powered light rail vehicle and its hydrogen filling station, and exchanged experience with the officers there on the application of hydrogen energy.

 

Mr Tse returned to Hong Kong in the evening.
