Views sought on min wage review

March 28, 2023

The Minimum Wage Commission today launched the first-stage consultation to collect public views on enhancing the review mechanism of the statutory minimum wage until April 24.

The Chief Executive announced in his 2022 Policy Address that the commission would be invited to study how to enhance the review mechanism, including the review cycle, ways to improve efficiency, and balancing a host of factors such as the minimum wage level and sustained economic development. It will submit a report on the study by the end of October this year.

Upon completion of the first-stage consultation, the commission will analyse and collate the views received towards conducting the second-stage consultation.

The consultation document is available online. People are welcome to submit their views by using an e-form, via email, by fax to 2110 3518 or by post to the commission at 1/F, Harbour Building, Central.
