Districts recruit care teams

March 13, 2023

Applications for care teams in 16 districts opened today.

As announced in the 2022 Policy Address, care teams will be set up in 18 districts to support the Government's district work and strengthen its community network.

Each district will be delineated into sub-districts and each sub-district will be served by a care team. The number of sub-districts in each of the 16 districts is different.

Organisations will form care teams through a selection process that consists of two stages, namely the organisation selection stage and the service proposal assessment stage.

In the organisation selection stage, the applicant organisations’ experience in providing services and organising activities, district network, mobilisation capability and so forth will be assessed.

Organisations that have passed the first stage should then submit service proposals based on the key performance indicators set by district offices for individual sub-districts.

The two-stage selection process will be undertaken by a steering group chaired by the Secretary for Home & Youth Affairs and assessment panels chaired by district officers to ensure fairness.

Meanwhile, the selection of care teams in the Tsuen Wan and Southern districts has already started.
