CE to attend NPC closing meeting

Chief Executive John Lee will depart for Beijing on March 12 to attend the closing meeting of the first session of the 14th National People's Congress on March 13.

      

Mr Lee will then call on various central ministries and authorities to exchange views on issues of common interest to enhance co-operation to promote Hong Kong's integration into national development and create strong impetus for the growth of the city.

      

Heads of relevant bureaus will join part of the visit. They include Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Kevin Yeung, Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Erick Tsang, Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Christopher Hui, Secretary for Security Tang Ping-keung, Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Algernon Yau, Secretary for Health Prof Lo Chung-mau, Secretary for Education Choi Yuk-lin and Secretary for Innovation, Technology & Industry Prof Sun Dong.

 

Director of the Chief Executive's Office Carol Yip and Director of Information Services Fletch Chan will accompany Mr Lee on the trip.

      

The Chief Executive will return to Hong Kong on March 18. During his absence, Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki will be Acting Chief Executive.
