Flower show opens Mar 10

March 9, 2023

The Hong Kong Flower Show 2023 will be held at Victoria Park from tomorrow until March 19, with some 400,000 blooms going on display.

The theme of this year's show is "Bliss in Bloom" featuring 40,000 hydrangeas, the theme flower.

One of the major attractions of the show is an eye-catching three-dimensional hydrangea flower wall and garden.

The flower wall and garden comprises eight giant hydrangea models, one of which has a diameter of over 2m embedded with various plants, showcasing the beauty of hydrangeas. In the flower garden, visitors will be able to appreciate 1,200 pots of the show's theme flower.

Along the axis of the showground running from the entrance of Hing Fat Street to the entrance of Sugar Street are large-scale flower plots decorated on the theme of four seasons with vibrant hydrangeas and installations in seasonal colours.

A sea of tulips and a sea of foxgloves will provide visitors with a beautiful backdrop for photos.

Another interesting attraction is a garden featuring special hydrangeas and edible plants, which will display various special species of hydrangea such as lacecap, mophead, and single-flowered and double-flowered hydrangeas in different colours.

Hydrangeas come in a variety of double colours and gradient colours as well. A waterfall made up of riotously coloured hydrangeas and a tunnel of thousands of moth orchids can also be found in the garden.

Organised by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, the show will run from 9am to 9pm daily.

A music and light show will be held at 7.30pm and 8.30pm every night at the flower plots along the central axis of the showground.
