Health chief views hospital situation

Secretary for Health Prof Lo Chung-mau today visited Princess Margaret Hospital to inspect the public hospital’s situation during the winter service surge.
He also showed appreciation to frontline healthcare staff for their perseverance and contributions.
Prof Lo and Under Secretary for Health Dr Libby Lee visited the Medicine & Geriatrics Specialist Outpatient Clinic, the Orthopaedics & Traumatology ward as well as the Accident & Emergency Department.
They received a briefing on the hospital’s contingency measures and manpower arrangement in response to COVID-19 and the winter service surge, in order to ensure normal operation of the healthcare system.
Prof Lo was pleased to know that the Hospital Authority has already implemented a series of contingency measures and mobilised manpower actively to ensure that hospitals can operate as usual during the Lunar New Year holiday.
The health chief appealed to citizens, especially the elderly and children to receive seasonal influenza and COVID-19 vaccines as soon as possible, wear masks properly and maintain good personal protection, so that everyone can celebrate the festival more safely to welcome the Year of the Rabbit.
