As the Year of the Rabbit approaches, people are busy shopping for festive treats and trimmings, with everyone full of energy and hope for a bright year ahead.

In Mong Kok, many shoppers flock to hawker stalls on Fa Yuen Street to pick up festive items including rabbit-themed decorations and gifts.

At the Lunar New Year Fair in Victoria Park, shoppers are willing to spend generously on the wide array of auspicious flowers and blooms.

“Poon choi”, a traditional dish of assorted meats and seafood, has become popular cuisine over the Lunar New Year. A social enterprise will produce 500 mini “poon choi”, which will be distributed to the underprivileged on January 23, the second day of the Lunar New Year, as a way to share the festive joy to those less fortunate.
