Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki today attended the handover ceremony of the central government-aided Emergency Hospital & Mobile Cabin Facility.

Mr Chan signed with the Shenzhen Municipal Government a memorandum of handover and collaboration on the handover of the facilities.

Mr Chan, together with representatives of Guangdong and Shenzhen authorities, watched an introductory video on the hospital and the facility. The memorandum of handover and collaboration was then signed, signifying the handover of the Emergency Hospital & Mobile Cabin Facility to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government for management.

Mr Chan expressed gratitude to the central government as well as the Guangdong and Shenzhen governments for their assistance to Hong Kong's anti-epidemic work, saying that the successful handover of the hospital and the facility fully indicates the care of the central government and Mainland people for Hong Kong citizens.

The Emergency Hospital & Mobile Cabin Facility in the Lok Ma Chau Loop were commissioned for construction by the central government during the fifth wave of the COVID-19 epidemic in Hong Kong.
