Botanical gardens sketching event set

December 7, 2022

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department will hold a flower viewing and sketching event at the Zoological & Botanical Gardens on December 18 as the finale of its Happy@Parks campaign.

The event to be held in the park from 2pm to 5pm is part of the Happy@Parks campaign to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s establishment.

The department's horticulture instructors will lead participants to appreciate and learn more about different species of winter flowering plants while touring the park on the spot or through the Facebook pages of LCSD+++ live. Souvenirs will be distributed during flower knowledge quizzes after the guided tours.

Participants can also take part in painting workshops and enjoy the fun of sketching or colouring at designated areas in the park with the guidance of drawing instructors.

In addition, 25 pairs of the department's mascots, Enggie Pup and Artti Kitty, in different sizes and styles will be installed in the park. Participants are welcome to draw the mascots with tools provided by the organiser.

Other activities will include game booths, orienteering games and stage performances. Admission is free.
