Children's jabs facilitated

November 23, 2022

The Department of Health’s Maternal & Child Health Centres (MCHCs) and Student Health Service Centres (SHSCs) will enhance the BioNTech and Sinovac vaccination services to further facilitate COVID-19 vaccination for toddlers and children.

From November 28, the Sai Wan Ho, Tang Chi Ngong, Lam Tin, Ma On Shan and Tsing Yi MCHCs will provide a booked vaccination service to children aged between six months and four years with the BioNTech vaccine's toddler formulation.

The five current designated MCHCs - Sai Wan Ho, Tang Chi Ngong, Lam Tin, Ma On Shan and Yan Oi - will also provide a booked Sinovac vaccination service to children aged between six months and four years.

In addition, starting December 6, five designated SHSCs - Chai Wan, Lam Tin, Sha Tin, Tuen Mun and Western - will adjust their COVID-19 vaccination services.

These five SHSCs will provide the Sinovac jab for children and adolescents aged three to 17 years on Monday, Thursday and Friday, and the paediatric formulation of the BioNTech vaccine for children aged five to 11 on Tuesday and Wednesday.

As the toddler and paediatric formulations of the BioNTech vaccine require a special dilution procedure, there is no same-day ticket arrangement at the relevant centres.

Parents and guardians can make online bookings for their children from 9am on November 25.
