Green tour incentive scheme boosted
The Government today announced enhancements to the Green Lifestyle Local Tour Incentive Scheme, which will take effect December 1, to provide more assistance to the tourism industry which has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the scheme, cash incentives are given to travel agents based on the number of green lifestyle local tour participants they served.
The upcoming incentives are expected to further support the travel trade to cope with the continued difficult business environment and encourage the trade to prepare for the return of visitors, the Government explained.
Elaborating on the incentives, the Government said each licensed travel agent will be provided with a fresh quota of 1,000 green lifestyle local tour participants, and the scope of the participants will encompass non-Hong Kong residents.
In addition, the subsidy level for receiving each local tour participant will be increased from $200 to $300.
