Pedestrian network dataset renewed

September 30, 2022

The new version of the 3D Pedestrian Network dataset has been extended to cover major hiking trails inside country parks and major footpaths inside villages, the Lands Department announced today.

In the updated dataset, the 37 hiking trails with a total length over 470km inside country parks are linked up to the distance posts. Utilising the network’s 3D feature, the public and application developers can create cross-section profiles using application programs in order to estimate the trails’ levels of difficulty and plan routes.

Moreover, routes from major footpaths inside villages to nearby community or public transport facilities are provided to assist users.

View or download the new 3D Pedestrian Network dataset in FGDB, GML and GeoJSON formats on the GeoData Store and the Public Sector Information Portal.
