Report on 2022 CE election published
The Electoral Affairs Commission Report on the 2022 Chief Executive Election was published today, the Government announced.
The report sets out the detailed arrangements, supervision work and follow-up actions concerrning the 2022 Chief Executive Election and the 2021 Election Committee Subsector Ordinary Elections.
It also reviews the relevant electoral arrangements in the light of experience and for the purpose of improving measures for future elections.
Pursuant to the Electoral Affairs Commission Ordinance, the commission submitted the report to the Chief Executive on August 5. In line with past practice and the principle of open and transparent elections, the Government agreed with the commission’s recommendation that the report should be made public.
“We are grateful to the commission for ensuring that the two elections were conducted in accordance with the law and were open, transparent and efficient, and for reviewing the electoral arrangements,” the Government said.
It added that it will continue to work closely with the commission to follow up on the recommendations.
