Police chief tests positive for virus

Police announced today that the Commissioner of Police Siu Chak-yee has tested positive for COVID-19 through a rapid antigen test and is undergoing isolation in accordance with the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health.

 

Mr Siu, who has no recent travel history, last went to work on August 22. He wore surgical masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures at work that included taking a rapid antigen test daily.

 

Police emphasised that thorough cleaning and disinfection operations will be carried out at the office concerned and disease prevention measures will continue to be implemented vigorously.
