The Government announced today that the declarations of interests made by the Chief Executive, politically appointed officials and Executive Council members are now available online for public inspection.

As stipulated in the Code for Officials under the Political Appointment System, secretaries of departments, deputy secretaries of departments, directors of bureaus and the Director of the Chief Executive’s Office are required to declare their investments and interests on appointment and annually thereafter. The declarations have been uploaded to the websites of the respective offices or bureaus.

The Chief Executive voluntarily observes the declaration arrangement.

Information on ExCo members’ registrable interests is also published online in accordance with statutory requirements.

These are the first declarations made by officials and ExCo members after assuming office.
