The Buildings Department today launched the WIN SAFE mobile application to help property owners search for and appoint Qualified Persons (QPs) for early compliance with the Mandatory Window Inspection Scheme.

In the WIN SAFE app, users can conduct searches according to district, the QPs’ popularity etc and check the cost data for window inspections for reference. The owners and QPs can also liaise using the app’s chatroom.

Under the scheme, owners of buildings aged 10 years or above (except domestic buildings not exceeding three storeys) and served with statutory notices are required to appoint a QP to carry out an inspection and supervise the prescribed repair works found necessary on all windows of the building.

Where a prescribed repair is required, a registered contractor must then be appointed to carry out the works under a QP’s supervision.

The app is now on the App Store, Google Play and AppGallery for free download.
