Elector registers released
The 2022 provisional registers of electors/voters and omissions lists for geographical constituencies (GCs), functional constituencies (FCs) and Election Committee subsectors (ECSSs) was released today.
The Registration & Electoral Office (REO) appeals to the public to log in to the Online Voter Information Enquiry System to check their own latest registration particulars and whether they are listed on the omissions lists.
They may also call the REO hotline at 2891 1001 during office hours to check the information. Enquiries should be made to the office by August 25.
The 2022 provisional register for GCs contains about 4,418,400 registered electors.
The REO has received about 35,800 new registration applications and some 774,900 applications for updating particulars from registered electors of GCs.
Meanwhile, the electoral records of about 27,600 and around 59,800 electors have been deleted by being listed on the omissions list due to death and as a result of the inquiry process.
The 2022 provisional register for FCs contains about 214,600 registered electors, while those for ECSSs contains around 7,975 registered voters.
The REO will issue written registration notices by post after the completion of processing the applications for new registration.
In addition to written registration notices, electors or voters who have applied for the change in registration particulars will also be notified by SMS or email that their registration particulars have been updated.
Members of the public or registered electors should return the registration notices to the REO and inform the office for follow-up action if they receive such notices, SMS or emails on applications for new voter registration or the change in registration particulars but have not made such applications.
The provisional registers for GCs, FCs and ECSSs and the relevant omissions lists are available for inspection by specified parties until August 25 at the two REO offices located at 10/F, Harbour Centre in Wan Chai and 13/F, Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre.
Eligible organisations, people or members of the public may make appointments to inspect the registers and omissions lists by calling 2891 4082 or 2891 2070 from today on a first come, first served basis.
Statistical information about the provisional registers of electors/voters is available on the voter registration website.
The final registers will be published by September 25.
