Passport application stations set

July 13, 2022

The Immigration Department today announced that to enable citizens to apply for a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region passport promptly, it has introduced HKSAR Passport Mobile Application Stations.

From today until early September, promotional vehicles will stop by locations near residential areas, shopping malls and areas with higher pedestrian flow in various districts from 10am to 6pm daily to promote the service.

Eligible applicants only need to bring their valid Hong Kong permanent identity cards to submit their applications at the stations. Their photos will be taken on site and the application fee can be paid online by credit card.

In addition to using the mobile stations, people are encouraged to submit their passport applications through the Internet or the department’s mobile application, or at Travel Document Submission Kiosks at the Immigration Headquarters in Wan Chai and the seven Immigration branch offices.

People making travel plans should check the validity of their passports in advance and arrange for renewal as early as possible, the department reminded.

To prevent any delay in travel, users are also reminded to allow sufficient time for the application and collection of their new passports, it added.
