Control point running time extended

July 7, 2022

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Government today announced that the operating hours of the Shenzhen Bay Control Point (SBCP) for passenger clearance will change to 9am to 8pm daily with effect from tomorrow until further notice.

Having regard to the latest COVID-19 epidemic developments in the Mainland and Hong Kong and in light of the Mainland's relaxation on the quarantine period and increase in the daily quota for Shenzhen quarantine hotels, the governments of the Hong Kong SAR and Shenzhen agreed after deliberation to extend the operating hours of the SBCP for passenger clearance.

The Hong Kong SAR Government explained that it aims to assist cross-boundary travellers with genuine needs to travel, such as for business purposes or for visiting relatives, without posing an additional health risk to the two places.

Cargo clearance services at the SBCP will continue to operate on a 24-hour basis.

Among the land control points, the SBCP and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port are still providing passenger clearance services, it added.
