The Hong Kong Observatory has downgraded the storm signal from No. 8 to No. 3, as tropical storm Chaba moves away from the city.

The No. 8 Southeast Gale or Storm Signal, issued at 7.10pm yesterday, was replaced by the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 at 4.20pm today.

The Hospital Authority said three people sought medical treatment at public hospitals due to typhoon-related injuries.

During the storm, the 1823 Government Call Centre received 45 reports of fallen trees, while the Drainage Services Department confirmed one flooding case.

The Home Affairs Department opened 25 temporary shelters in which 88 people sought refuge.
