She noted the book not only captures Hong Kong's impressive achievements over the past two and a half decades, it also underscores everyone's eager anticipation for a brighter future.

Mrs Lam stressed that under the 14th Five-Year Plan, the central government supports Hong Kong in consolidating and upgrading its four traditional pillar industries, and states for the first time support for Hong Kong to establish and develop in four emerging areas.

By leveraging the central government's policies in support of Hong Kong while giving full play to its unique strengths, and striving to nurture local talent while attracting more talent both from the Mainland and from overseas, continuous impetus can be brought to the economy, she added.
