Chief Executive Carrie Lam today congratulated the principal officials of the sixth-term Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government appointed by the Central People's Government.

In a statement, Mrs Lam said she is sure that the officials, under the Chief Executive's leadership, will steadfastly implement the "one country, two systems" principle, focus on development as the top priority and strive to resolve economic and livelihood issues of common concern with perseverance and dedication.

“In my final Policy Address delivered last year, I said I hope that with the improved electoral system, more patriots who love Hong Kong and who have the aspirations, ability and commitment will be willing to accept the challenges and join the governing team to make contributions to Hong Kong and the country.

“I am pleased to learn that the Chief Executive-elect has smoothly formed his cabinet and I wish that the new governing team will act in concert to enable Hong Kong to forge ahead towards development and prosperity.”

Mrs Lam also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all incumbent principal officials for their diligence and dedication over the past five years in tackling difficulties and challenges together with her, as well as bringing Hong Kong back on the right track of "one country, two systems".

They have served the community well under their respective policy purviews in order to build a better Hong Kong, she added.
