3 smart traffic projects get funding

June 15, 2022

The Transport Department today announced that the fourth batch of three projects have been approved under the Smart Traffic Fund, involving a total grant of around $13.7 million.

The three projects cover a safety assessment of bridge decks, a ride-hailing mobile application for the elderly and people with disabilities to book accessible transport, and a charging management system for electric vehicles.

The Smart Traffic Fund provides funding support to local organisations and enterprises for conducting research and application of innovation and technology with the objectives of enhancing commuting convenience, enhancing road network or road space efficiency, and improving driving safety.

The department appeals to interested parties to take part to help make the fund a success, and to build Hong Kong into a liveable and sustainable city by driving towards a new era of transportation.

The fund accepts applications all year round.
