814 COVID-19 cases identified

June 12, 2022

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 814 additional COVID-19 cases, of which 364 were directly identified through nucleic acid tests and 450 via rapid antigen tests which were verified by authorities.

Among the new cases, 106 are imported while the rest are locally infected.

The centre received 10 reports of positive cases from two schools. Face-to-face lessons for the classes involved are proposed to be suspended for one week.

FLM bar on Jervois Street in Sheung Wan registered four more cases, bringing the total number of infections there to 17.

Meanwhile, the Government made a restriction-testing declaration to cover King Man House of Ho Man Tin Estate in Kowloon City. People in the restricted area are required to undergo compulsory testing before the specified deadline.

Due to a number of positive cases and sewage samples detected, 57 specified places are included in a compulsory testing notice. The Government will reopen the mobile specimen collection station at Bellagio in Sham Tseng tomorrow.

As there were positive sewage test results with relatively high viral loads in several areas of Eastern District, Kowloon City, Yau Tsim Mong, Sai Kung and Tsuen Wan, the Housing Department and respective district offices will distribute COVID-19 rapid test kits to relevant residents as well as cleaning workers and property management staff working there.
