Employment subsidy list published

May 31, 2022

The Government today published the list of the first batch of employers who have received wage subsidies in the 2022 Employment Support Scheme (ESS).

So far, about 77,000 employers have had their wage subsidies for May approved, involving a total of $5.2 billion in subsidies.

They have committed to employ around 665,000 employees in May.

The Government said the 2022 ESS adopts a highly transparent approach by facilitating public monitoring.

The names and core business of the first batch of employers concerned, as well as the wage subsidy and committed employee headcount involved, are uploaded onto the scheme’s website.

The remaining successful applicants will receive notifications via an SMS message and email in batches. They can log in to the ESS website to check the application results in detail.

Separately, the scheme’s secretariat will open up the website portal starting early June to allow employers who have received May wage subsidies to adjust their committed headcount for June if they so wish.

Employers will be notified via SMS message and email of the portal’s opening and they must make any change within 10 days from the notification.

The public may report suspected abuse or non-compliance through the hotline 183 6122 or via email.
