Health centre contract awarded
The contract to operate the district health centre in Tsuen Wan has been awarded through open tender to the Yan Chai Hospital Board, the Food & Health Bureau announced today.
The operator is expected to start its three-year operation of the centre within this year. The contract sum is $337.57 million.
The centre in Plaza 88 at Yeung Uk Road covers an area of about 1,000 sq m. It will provide primary healthcare services including health promotion, health assessment, chronic disease management and community rehabilitation.
The operator is required to set up four satellite centres in Tsuen Wan within the first year of operation. The core and the satellite centres will open for 10 hours a day for six days a week.
In addition to a core team, the operator must develop a multi-disciplinary network of medical and healthcare practitioners within or next to the service district to provide medical, healthcare and health assessment services to centre members upon referral.
The centre in Tsuen Wan is also responsible for co-ordination with community partners which provide social welfare and healthcare services in the district and make referrals as necessary.
The operator will have to follow the vaccine pass arrangement during the centre's operation.
