New QR code for recovered residents

April 19, 2022

People who have recovered from COVID-19 may download the recovery record QR code through the COVID-19 Electronic Vaccination & Testing Record System starting today, the Government announced.

They can also choose to download the recovery record QR code using “iAM Smart” or the latest version of “eHealth” mobile applications.

The move aims to facilitate the use of the vaccine pass by recovered people as the second stage of the vaccine pass will commence on April 30.

People who download the recovery code via the online system must provide their identity information, along with the month of discharge from the hospital or positive test result.

Isolation orders issued by the Department of Health, from today, will also include the recovery record QR code.

The recovery record QR code is valid within 180 days from the date of recovery, during which recovered people may carry the record with them or present the recovery record QR code as a substitute for the vaccination record to enter specified premises under the vaccine pass arrangement.

They may also save the recovery code in the “LeaveHomeSafe” mobile application to facilitate scanning when entering a vaccine pass premises subject to active checking.

If the recovered people had received vaccination, they may also download the updated vaccination record QR code with their recovery status incorporated through the “iAM Smart” or “eHealth” mobile applications.

Recovered people who had received two or three doses of a vaccine are not required to receive additional doses to comply with the vaccine pass requirement.

As for recovered people who had not been vaccinated or who had only received one dose of a vaccine, they must receive the required dosage of a vaccine during the validity period of the recovery record QR code.

Such individuals should also use the vaccination record QR code with their recovery status incorporated in order to continue to comply with the vaccine pass requirement.

As a transitional measure before June 30, recovered people may still present the relevant proof of recovery or infection for the vaccine pass purposes.

To tie in with the launch of the recovery record QR code and the commencement of the second stage of the vaccine pass on April 30, the Government has updated the “LeaveHomeSafe”, “eHealth” and QR Code Verification Scanner mobile applications.
