March 29, 2022

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is looking into 7,596 additional COVID-19 cases, of which 3,164 were detected by nucleic acid tests and 4,432 were identified via rapid antigen tests.

Among the cases which tested positive by nucleic acid tests, two were imported and the rest were locally acquired.

Since the fifth wave of the epidemic, a total of 7,358 patients passed away, with the death rate standing at 0.65%.

Meanwhile, the Government made restriction-testing declarations to cover several buildings where sewage samples tested positive for the virus.

They include Block 7 and Block 8 of Richland Gardens in Kowloon Bay, Ching Yeung House of Cheung Ching Estate in Tsing Yi and Block 6 of Dawning Views in Fanling. People in the restricted areas must undergo compulsory testing before the specified deadline.

Due to a number of positive cases, 20 specified places are included in a compulsory testing notice.

The Government will reopen the mobile specimen collection station at the basketball court outside Hong Fung and Hong Cheung houses of Cheung Hong Estate in Tsing Yi tomorrow.

The mobile specimen collection stations at the open area outside Wing Shue House of Lei Muk Shue Estate in Tsuen Wan and the one outside On Chung House of Shun On Estate in Kwun Tong will extend service to March 31.
