Vaccine Pass adjusted

March 20, 2022

The Government today announced that the implementation of stage three of the Vaccine Pass will be brought forward to May 31 from June 30.

By May 31, instead of June 30, all applicable individuals except special groups under the Vaccine Pass need to have received the third dose. The move has taken into account the people’s enthusiasm in getting vaccinated and the Government’s capacity to get all eligible citizens vaccinated with three doses before the deadline.

Additionally, during the period of stage three from May 31 onwards, the grace period for people aged 12 or above to receive the third dose will be shortened by three months to six. For those whose second dose was received within six months, their Vaccine Pass is still valid but they must receive the third dose within six months after receiving the second dose for continuing use of the Vaccine Pass.

The Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases and the Scientific Committee on Emerging & Zoonotic Diseases, joined by the Chief Executive's expert advisory panel, has updated the consensus interim recommendations on the vaccination arrangements for recovered people on March 13.

Having considered the experts' recommendations, the Government updated the vaccination requirements for recovered people under the Vaccine Pass.
