Mainland medical supplies update
The Commerce & Economic Development Bureau today said various kinds of medical supplies are arriving in Hong Kong in batches, with the task force working closely with its Mainland counterparts.
The bureau explained that the task force has so far procured more than 68 million rapid antigen test kits from the Mainland, which have been continuously distributed to the Department of Health and other government departments.
It has also received over 160 million N95 masks, KN95 masks and surgical masks, as well as over 10 million of other protective equipment, including coveralls, gowns, goggles, face shields, shoe covers and surgical and examination gloves.
Such items will be increasingly distributed to frontline staff of various government departments according to their needs and residential care homes for the elderly through the Social and Welfare Department.
Additionally, more than 1 million pulse oximeters have been relayed to the Hospital Authority for patient use.
