Chinese medicines distributed

The Food & Health Bureau distributes anti-epidemic proprietary Chinese medicines donated by the Mainland to residents subject to restriction-testing declarations.
The Food & Health Bureau distributed a total of about 23,000 boxes of anti-epidemic proprietary Chinese medicines donated by the Mainland to residents subject to restriction-testing declarations yesterday and today.
Residents of Tak Sui House, Tak Long Estate in Kowloon City, Heng Chi, Heng Fu and Heng Kin houses, Tin Heng Estate in Yuen Long, Pok Man House, Pok Hong Estate, Shun Wo House, Wo Che Estate in Sha Tin, Chun Hin and Chun Ho houses, Ching Chun Court in Tsing Yi, Fuk Yat, Yu Yat houses, Yat Tung (I) Estate, Kit Yat House, Yat Tung (II) Estate in Tung Chung, Sau Yin House, Sau Mau Ping Estate and Shing Tai House, On Tai Estate in Kwun Tong received the Chinese medicines.
The bureau expressed its gratitude to the Central People's Government for its ceaseless support to Hong Kong's anti-epidemic work in co-ordinating the delivery of anti-epidemic proprietary Chinese medicines to Hong Kong within a short timeframe.
It said the move assisted Hong Kong in the fight against the fifth wave of the epidemic and demonstrated the deepest care extended by the central government to the people of Hong Kong.
Apart from the first batch of "Lianhua Qingwen Jiaonang" and "Jinhua Qinggan Keli" delivered to Hong Kong, another proprietary Chinese medicine "Huoxiang Zhengqi" will also arrive in Hong Kong by phases.
The bureau noted that these three proprietary Chinese medicines are recommended in the Mainland's Diagnosis & Treatment Protocols for Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia and widely applied in the Mainland's anti-epidemic work.
It added that under the clinical guidance of Chinese medicine practitioners, the Chinese medicines could be used during the stage of medical surveillance, and treatment for patients with mild and common symptoms, subject to actual clinical conditions.
Having regard to the physique, cause of disease and medical conditions of different people, members of the public should seek professional advice from Chinese medicine practitioners before consuming Chinese medicines.
