Over 34k COVID-19 cases recorded

February 28, 2022

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 34,466 additional COVID-19 cases, of which four are imported and the rest are locally infected.

A total of 148,066 positive cases were recorded in the past 14 days, comprising 109 imported and 147,957 locally acquired cases.

Separately, the Government made restriction-testing declarations to cover six buildings where sewage samples tested positive for the virus.

They include Chun Ho House of Ching Chun Court in Tsing Yi, Shun Wo House of Wo Che Estate in Sha Tin, Fuk Yat and Yu Yat houses of Yat Tung (I) Estate in Tung Chung, Heng Fu and Heng Chi houses of Tin Heng Estate in Yuen Long and Sau Yin House of Sau Mau Ping Estate in Kwun Tong.

People in the restricted areas must undergo compulsory testing before the specified deadline.

As there were positive sewage test results in several areas of Kwai Tsing, Yuen Long, Kwun Tong, Sha Tin, North and Tai Po districts, the Home Affairs Department will distribute COVID-19 rapid test kits to relevant residents as well as cleansing workers and property management staff working in those areas from tomorrow.
