The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 8,674 additional COVID-19 cases, of which three are imported and the rest are locally infected, bringing the total number of positive cases in Hong Kong to 75,248.

A total of 49,927 positive cases were reported in the city in the past 14 days, comprising 93 imported and 49,834 locally acquired cases.

Meanwhile, the Government made restriction-testing declarations to cover Chi Tai House of On Tai Estate in Kwun Tong, Lai Tong House of Lai Tsui Court in Cheung Sha Wan and Tin Hee House of Tin Ping Estate in Sheung Shui where sewage samples tested positive for the virus. People in the restricted areas need to undergo compulsory testing before the specified deadline.

In view of a number of preliminary positive and positive cases, 21 specified places are included in a compulsory testing notice.

The Government will set up additional mobile specimen collection stations at Aberdeen Sports Centre and Tin Pak Road Park in Tin Shui Wai tomorrow.

As there were positive sewage test results in several areas of Islands, Kwai Tsing, Kwun Tong, Sha Tin, Southern and Yuen Long districts, the Home Affairs Department will distribute COVID-19 rapid test kits to relevant residents as well as cleansing workers and property management staff working in those areas from tomorrow.

The Hospital Authority announced that it will activate two more designated clinics tomorrow to help provide diagnoses and treatment for more confirmed patients. The newly activated clinics are Yau Ma Tei Jockey Club General Out-patient Clinic and Cheung Sha Wan Jockey Club General Out-patient Clinic.
