February 22, 2022

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is looking into 6,221 additional COVID-19 cases, of which three are imported and the rest are locally infected.

A total of 44,341 positive cases were reported in the city in the past 14 days, comprising 94 imported and 44,247 locally acquired cases.

The Hospital Authority also announced that 32 more patients passed away.

This afternoon, the Government made a restriction-testing declaration to cover Heng Fung House of Heng On Estate in Sha Tin where preliminary positive COVID-19 cases as well as positive sewage samples were found. Meanwhile, at Chung Kwan House of Chung On Estate in Ma On Shan, the Government also issued a restriction-testing declaration due to sewage samples there testing positive for the virus. People in the restricted areas need to undergo compulsory testing before the specified deadline.

In view of a number of preliminary positive and positive cases, 22 specified places are included in a compulsory testing notice. The Government will set up additional mobile specimen collection stations at Tsuen King Circuit Sports Centre in Tsuen Wan and Tin Ning House of Lung Tin Estate in Tai O tomorrow to serve citizens subject to mandatory testing.

As there were positive sewage test results in several areas of Sham Shui Po, Sha Tin, Tai Po, Yuen Long, Kwun Tong, North, and Kwai Tsing districts, the Home Affairs Department will distribute COVID-19 rapid test kits to relevant residents as well as cleansing workers and property management staff working in those areas from tomorrow.
