February 21, 2022

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is looking into 7,533 additional COVID-19 cases, of which three are imported and the rest are locally infected, bringing the total number of positive cases in Hong Kong to 60,363.

A total of 37,422 positive cases were reported in the city in the past 14 days, comprising 99 imported and 37,323 locally acquired cases.

The Hospital Authority announced that 13 more patients passed away, including an 11-month-old girl.

Meanwhile, the Government made restriction-testing declarations to cover Chung Wo House of Chung On Estate in Sha Tin, as well as Cheong Him House and Cheong Yat House of Nam Cheong Estate in Sham Shui Po where sewage samples tested positive for the virus. People in the restricted areas need to undergo compulsory testing before the specified deadline.

In view of a number of preliminary positive and positive cases, 22 specified places are included in a compulsory testing notice.

The Government will set up an additional mobile specimen collection station at Tai Kok Tsui Sports Centre tomorrow to provide services for people subject to mandatory testing.

As there were positive sewage test results in several areas of Islands, Kwai Tsing, Kwun Tong, Sham Shui Po, Sha Tin, Wong Tai Sin and Yuen Long districts, the Home Affairs Department will distribute COVID-19 rapid test kits to relevant residents, as well as cleansing workers and property management staff working in those areas from tomorrow.
