Environment Bureau reports case
Secretary for the Environment KS Wong took a rapid test for COVID-19 and the result was negative after his driver today tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19.
The Environment Bureau today said the driver is responsible for driving Mr Wong and does not have contact with the public and had no recent travel history.
The driver will return a deep throat saliva specimen for analysis in accordance with the Department of Health’s guidelines as soon as possible.
He wore masks and followed disease prevention measures at work. He last performed his duties on February 19.
The bureau added that Mr Wong will return his deep throat saliva sample for testing as soon as possible. For prudence's sake, Mr Wong will work from home until the test result is released.
On the scheduled meeting with the Mainland expert delegation this afternoon to introduce the city’s sewage surveillance plan, Mr Wong will attend the meeting by videoconferencing.
