Children's jab services expanded

February 14, 2022

The Department of Health today announced that its five Student Health Service Centres (SHSCs) will expand COVID-19 vaccination services to provide the Sinovac vaccine for children aged three or above starting from February 15.

Parents and guardians can make vaccination appointments online on the child's behalf from tomorrow onwards. They should also accompany them to get the jab.

These five SHSCs are Chai Wan, Lam Tin, Sha Tin, Tuen Mun and Western which are providing the Sinovac vaccine to children and students aged five to 17.

The five centres will provide vaccine services from 9am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 5.30pm from Monday to Friday, except public holidays.

The children have to bring original identity documents. If the identity documents do not bear their photo, school documents such as school handbooks that bear the student’s photo must be presented at the time of vaccination.

The children are also required to bring a consent form signed by their parents on that occasion. The consent form can be downloaded from the Vaccination Programme website.

The Department of Health said an interval of 28 days is required for children to receive the first and the second doses of the Sinovac vaccine. There should also be a minimum interval of 14 days between the COVID-19 jab and any other vaccination including the seasonal influenza one.
