HK reports 1.3k COVID-19 cases

February 13, 2022

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 1,347 additional COVID-19 cases, of which two are imported and the others are locally infected.

A total of 7,609 positive cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, comprising 115 imported and 7,494 locally acquired cases.

The Hospital Authority added that three COVID-19 patients and a three-year-old girl who preliminarily tested positive are currently in critical condition.

As sewage discharged from Lee Shing House of Lee On Estate in Sha Tin tested positive for the virus, the Government made a restriction-testing declaration tonight to cover the building, requiring people in the restricted area to undergo compulsory testing.

In view of a number of preliminary positive and positive cases, 15 specified places are included in a compulsory testing notice.

Free testing services will be provided for people subject to mandatory testing at community testing centres and mobile specimen collection stations located at 63 places in the city tomorrow.

Regarding the positive sewage test results in several areas in Islands, Sha Tin, Sham Shui Po and Kwai Tsing districts, the Home Affairs Department will distribute COVID-19 rapid test kits to relevant residents, cleansing workers and property management staff from tomorrow.
