Housing block lockdown extended

Government staff register people subject to compulsory testing in Tai Hing Estate.
The Government today extended the restriction-testing declaration period for Hing Tai House of Tai Hing Estate in Tuen Mun to tomorrow in view of the significant risk of infection at the housing block.
Sewage discharged from Hing Tai House tested positive for COVID-19, while the subsequent compulsory testing exercise yesterday detected 11 preliminary positive cases and one indeterminate case.
People subject to compulsory testing there have to stay in their premises and undergo two tests under the designated arrangement, including the one conducted yesterday under the declaration.
Hing Tai House and Hing Cheung House of Tai Hing Estate as well as Sun Yuet House and Sun Wai House of Sun Chui Estate in Sha Tin were covered in the restriction-testing declarations.
A total of 2,633 people at Hing Cheung House underwent testing and two preliminary positive cases were found in that housing block.
For the compulsory testing exercise in Sun Chui Estate, 3,871 people were tested. Among them, 11 preliminary positive cases were found in Sun Yuet House and two preliminary positive cases were identified in Sun Wai House.
The Centre for Health Protection will follow up on each of the cases found.
