Govt work arrangements announced

January 24, 2022

In view of the latest local epidemic situation, the Government announced today that bureaus and departments will implement special work arrangements from tomorrow, including allowing some staff to take turns working from home.

The Civil Service Bureau has requested bureaus and departments to review demand for their services and implement special work arrangements with a view to reducing the number of staff in the office while maintaining basic public services and not affecting anti-epidemic work.

Noting that the provision of some public services offered by individual departments may be temporarily reduced after such arrangements are implemented, the Government appealed to people for their understanding for any inconvenience caused.

To reduce the flow of people and social contact in the community, the public is encouraged to use the post, drop-in boxes or online channels to receive the services they need.

They are advised to wear surgical masks when entering or are present in any government buildings or offices, and comply with the infection control and social distancing measures implemented by relevant departments including using the LeaveHomeSafe app and adhering to temperature checks and crowd control procedures.

The Government also appealed to employers to allow their staff to work from home as far as possible according to their operational needs.
